Bug Reports and Suggestions

The best way to give us feedback on Scalar is through our public issue tracker, hosted on GitHub. If you find a bug, have a suggestion, or simply notice something that seems amiss, we welcome your reports—the more specific and detailed, the better. You’ll need a GitHub account to contribute in this way; if you don’t want to create one, you can contact us directly.

What makes a good entry for the issue tracker? Attention to detail. The more you can tell us about exactly at what point Scalar deviated from its usual or expected behavior, what browser and platform you were using, the more helpful the report becomes (screen shots are great too). While not required, it also helps to have a good understanding of modular software architecture and web development, so that when you report an issue you can try to identify which part of Scalar is acting up.

Feature and Platform Testing

We’re also looking for Scalar experts who know the software well enough to tell when something small isn’t right, who can test out the latest features and tell us what’s missing or what can be improved. If you are interested in participating in the development of Scalar in this way, please contact us and sign up for a GitHub account so you can start contributing to the issue tracker. We’ll let you know where we are at in the development/testing roadmap and give you access to the newest features for you to test with your critical eye! It helps a lot to have users on different browsers, platforms and operating systems who can include that information when reporting an issue.
